About the Album

Rainbow's Long Live Rock 'n' Roll (1978) is the band's third studio album and the final studio release to feature Ronnie James Dio. Ritchie Blackmore's guitar riffs and Dio's dramatic vocals create a distinctive balance of hard-rock force and fantasy-inspired storytelling. The title track is a direct, anthemic rocker, while “Gates of Babylon” develops a more elaborate arrangement with an exotic atmosphere and a memorable guitar solo. “Kill the King” delivers a faster, more aggressive side of the group. With Cozy Powell's forceful drumming and layered instrumental textures, the album stands as a defining statement from Rainbow's classic Dio era.
