About the Album
Led Zeppelin's Led Zeppelin III, released in 1970, broadened the band's sound by placing acoustic folk and pastoral textures alongside heavy blues-rock. “Immigrant Song” opens with one of Jimmy Page's most recognizable riffs and Robert Plant's forceful vocal, while “Gallows Pole” and “Tangerine” reveal the band's interest in traditional and acoustic music. The album also includes the blues-driven “Since I've Been Loving You” and the expansive “That's the Way,” creating a balance between electric intensity and quieter, more reflective arrangements. John Paul Jones's multi-instrumental work and John Bonham's dynamic drumming support the variety. Led Zeppelin III marks an important stage in the group's musical development.
