About the Album
Kiss's Asylum, released in 1985, reflects the band's polished hard-rock sound during the mid-1980s, with Bruce Kulick joining as lead guitarist. The album combines big guitar riffs, melodic choruses, and glossy production, fitting the era's arena-rock and MTV landscape. “Tears Are Falling” became a major single, while “Who Wants to Be Lonely” and “Uh! All Night” showcase the group's blend of catchy hooks and energetic hard rock. Paul Stanley's vocals and songwriting are central, supported by Gene Simmons's bass and the band's tight rhythm section. Asylum is a key release from Kiss's unmasked period, balancing the band's theatrical identity with a contemporary 1980s production style.
