About the Album
Foreigner's self-titled debut album, released in 1977, established the group with a blend of hard rock, melodic songwriting, and polished studio arrangements. “Feels Like the First Time” and “Cold as Ice” became signature tracks, combining Mick Jones's guitar-driven writing with Lou Gramm's powerful vocals and the band's keyboard textures. The album balances heavy riffs with memorable choruses, creating a sound that worked both on rock radio and in large venues. Foreigner's lineup brought together British and American musicians, and that mix contributed to a style that was direct but carefully arranged. The debut became a major commercial success and laid the foundation for the band's later run of arena-rock hits.
