About the Album

Faster Pussycat's self-titled debut album, released in 1987, captures the gritty side of the Los Angeles glam-metal scene. The band's sound combines hard-rock riffs, bluesy guitar lines, and a rough-edged vocal style that contrasts with the more polished pop-metal productions of the period. Songs such as “Bathroom Wall,” “Don't Change That Song,” and “Babylon” mix catchy choruses with a streetwise attitude and loose, energetic playing. Taime Downe's vocals and the guitar work give the record a raw character, while the songwriting keeps the songs direct and memorable. Faster Pussycat is a notable release from the late-1980s Sunset Strip scene and a foundation of the band's catalog.
