About the Album
Thin Lizzy's Chinatown, released in 1980, continues the band's blend of hard-rock riffs, melodic twin-guitar harmonies, and Phil Lynott's vivid storytelling. The title track and “Killer on the Loose” deliver a direct, heavy sound, while “We Will Be Strong” balances power with a memorable chorus. Scott Gorham and Snowy White's guitar interplay gives the album its distinctive melodic edge, supported by a driving rhythm section. The record followed the success of Black Rose and captures Thin Lizzy moving into the new decade without abandoning the musical qualities that made the band influential. Chinatown is an important entry in the group's late-1970s/early-1980s catalog.
