Album Overview
The Singles 1970–1977 gathers key recordings from T. Rex's most celebrated period, when Marc Bolan helped define the glam-rock movement with catchy hooks, shimmering guitars, and a playful, charismatic vocal style. The collection traces the band's evolution from the acoustic-leaning sound of Tyrannosaurus Rex into the concise, electric rock that made T. Rex a chart presence in the early 1970s. Songs such as “Ride a White Swan,” “Get It On,” “Telegram Sam,” and “Metal Guru” showcase Bolan's gift for turning simple riffs and melodies into distinctive pop-rock anthems. This Japanese compilation LP is an appealing overview for newcomers and a collectible for fans of glam rock and Bolan's influential songwriting.
