About the Album
Released in 1975, Led Zeppelin's double album Physical Graffiti showcases the band's remarkable stylistic range. Across its 15 tracks, the group moves from the hard-driving blues-rock of “Custard Pie” to the acoustic delicacy of “Bron-Y-Aur,” the funky groove of “Trampled Under Foot,” and the expansive, Eastern-influenced atmosphere of “Kashmir.” The album combines newly recorded material with selected recordings from earlier sessions, giving it a broad and sometimes exploratory character. Jimmy Page's guitar work, Robert Plant's vocals, John Paul Jones's arrangements, and John Bonham's powerful drumming create a sound that can be both massive and finely detailed. As the first Led Zeppelin release on the band's Swan Song label, Physical Graffiti stands as one of the group's most ambitious and varied albums.
