About the Album

Live After Death, released in 1985, documents Iron Maiden's World Slavery Tour and is widely regarded as one of heavy metal's essential live albums. Recorded during the tour that followed Powerslave, it captures the band performing with the speed, precision, and theatrical energy that defined its mid-1980s peak. Bruce Dickinson's commanding vocals, Steve Harris's driving bass, and the twin-guitar harmonies of Dave Murray and Adrian Smith give songs such as “Aces High,” “The Trooper,” and “Powerslave” extra force on stage. The performance also draws on earlier favorites, showing how the band's catalog had developed over several albums. The live setting emphasizes the group's tight musicianship and the scale of its stage presentation.
