About the Album
Missing Persons' Color in Your Life, released in 1986, is the band's third studio album and continues its blend of new wave, pop-rock, and sharply defined electronic textures. Dale Bozzio's distinctive, high-pitched vocals remain central, while Warren Cuccurullo's guitar and the band's precise rhythmic arrangements give the songs an angular, contemporary feel. The album reflects the mid-1980s shift toward more polished production, with synthesizers and clear hooks balanced against the group's art-rock roots. Its sound differs from the more experimental edge of the band's earlier work, but retains the visual and musical style that made Missing Persons recognizable during the MTV era. Color in Your Life is a useful snapshot of the group as it adapted to the changing pop landscape of the decade.
