About the Album

David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, released in 1972, tells the story of a fictional rock star whose rise and downfall unfold against an imagined end-of-the-world backdrop. Bowie's songwriting blends glam-rock energy with theatrical characters and memorable melodies. “Starman” became a defining song of the era, while “Ziggy Stardust” and “Suffragette City” deliver sharp riffs and dramatic performances. The album's narrative, visual style, and Mick Ronson's guitar work helped establish Bowie as one of the most influential artists of the 1970s. This Japanese edition is a notable collectible version of a landmark glam-rock album.
