About the Album
David Bowie's “Absolute Beginners” was recorded for the 1986 film of the same name and became one of his major mid-1980s singles. The song combines a romantic lyric with a polished, orchestral pop arrangement and a dramatic vocal performance. Its sound differs from Bowie's earlier glam-rock and Berlin-era work, reflecting the more expansive studio production of the period. This Japanese single release is particularly relevant to collectors interested in Bowie's soundtrack work and the various edits or mixes issued internationally. The exact track configuration should be checked against the printed sleeve and labels, as single releases can differ from the full-length soundtrack version.
