Album Overview

Released in 1982, Rock in a Hard Place is a distinctive Aerosmith album from a transitional period in the band’s history. With Joe Perry and Brad Whitford absent from the recording, the album features a different guitar lineup while retaining the group’s blues-based hard rock foundations. Tracks such as “Lightning Strikes,” “Bitch’s Brew,” and “Jailbait” showcase energetic performances, muscular riffs, and Steven Tyler’s unmistakable vocal style. Its unusual place in the band’s catalogue makes it an interesting release for Aerosmith collectors. This Japanese CBS/Sony LP is catalogued as 25AP 2407 and is listed with an OBI.
