About the Album
Scorpions' Animal Magnetism, released in 1980, combines heavy riffs with melodic hooks and a darker atmosphere than some of the band's later arena-rock albums. “The Zoo” became a fan favorite, driven by a slow, stalking groove and memorable guitar work, while “Make It Real” offers a more direct, melodic hard-rock approach. Klaus Meine's vocals and the twin-guitar interplay of Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs give the album its characteristic balance of power and melody. The production emphasizes the band's tight rhythm section and the gritty edge of its guitars. Animal Magnetism helped prepare the way for the international success of Blackout and remains an important release from Scorpions' classic period.
