Album Overview

Live in Australia captures Elton John performing with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra during his 1986 Australian tour. The concert brings together his piano-led pop and rock songs with expansive orchestral arrangements, creating a dramatic live experience that differs from the original studio recordings. Highlights include “Your Song,” “I’m Still Standing,” “Rocket Man,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” and “Candle in the Wind.” The combination of John’s expressive vocals, energetic band, and symphonic backing gives familiar songs a grand concert-hall scale while retaining their melodic warmth. The performance also reflects the theatrical spirit and musical ambition that have defined Elton John’s live shows for decades. This Japanese promotional LP edition, with OBI and insert, is an appealing collectible for Elton John fans and collectors of Japanese pressings.
