About the Album
Night Ranger's Man in Motion (1988) is the band's fifth studio album, featuring a guitar-oriented hard-rock sound shaped by producer Keith Olsen. The record arrived as the group's arena-rock style was becoming more polished and melodic, with strong choruses and detailed guitar arrangements. The title track and songs such as “Reason to Be” showcase the band's blend of melodic hooks, twin-guitar interplay, and vocal harmonies. Jack Blades's vocals and bass, Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson's guitars, and Kelly Keagy's drums form the core of the sound. Man in Motion represents the closing chapter of Night Ranger's initial 1980s run.
