About the Album
Europe’s self-titled 1983 album introduces the Swedish band’s melodic hard-rock style, combining Joey Tempest’s clear vocals with prominent guitar riffs and keyboard color. The songs draw on classic hard rock while pointing toward the polished, melodic sound that would bring the band wider recognition later in the decade. This early release is a useful look at Europe before its international breakthrough.
